Foam

Classifications:

  • Foams are highly absorbent dressings generally made from a hydrophilic polyurethane foam.
  • There are various absorption rates of the different foams on the market. Some have adhesive tapes surrounding an 'island' of foam.
  • Highly absorbent foams may allow the caregiver to change dressings less frequently. Foams that absorb exudate and keep it off the wound will decrease maceration to the surrounding tissue.

Indications for use:

  • For heavily exudating wounds - especially during the inflammatory phase following debridement and desloughing, when drainage is at its peak .
  • Deep cavity wounds - as packing to prevent premature closure while absorbing exudate and maintaining a moist environment.
  • Weeping ulcers, such as venous stasis.

Roll Gauze

Roll Gauze

  • Special hydrophobic wound contact layer is gentle to the peri-wound skin, and minimizes the risk of wound fluid forming between the dressing and the skin
  • Channels of super-absorbent polymer actively draw wound fluid vertically away from the wound and "lock" the fluid in the back of the dressing.
  • Bacteria-barrier, waterproof and vapor-permeable outer-film minimizes risk of cross-contamination and infection.

ABD Pads/Rolls
ABD Pads

  • ABD Pads are constructed of high quality absorbent materials.
  • Highly absorbent cotton and tissue (wicking) fillers are wrapped in an outer layer of soft Rayon Non-Woven.
  • All pads and rolls are available in All Absorbent and Non Absorbent varieties.
  • Pads are available in widths of 5", 9", 10" and 12" with cut lengths from 9" to 36". Rolls are available in stock lengths of 20 yards and 30 yards.
  • Custom lengths are available.
